73-79 inner fenders

I have inner finders from a 77 truck I have the inner fender brackets and the hood hinges but I cant get the hood hinges to line up with the hood. I get one side lined up and the other side is way out....has anyone tried this? I seen on the web page it said some tweaking and I did that installing the inner fenders but I am not sure how to tweak the hinges.

I'm not sure how to tweak the hinges, but the 73-79 hinges mount on the out side on the inner fenders compaired to the inside mount on our trucks. Mady try hinges from a 67-72.

well I was thinking of that, but he henge from our truck would have to mount on the out side so the later inner finders, so you would have to switch sides to make it fit, but I don't have my old hinges to try them, but something else is there isn't enough room between the inner edge of the hood and the mounting holes to allow the hinge and spring in there....so when you try to shut the hood the spring itself hits the inner edge of the hood. so you cant close the hood. ??? I don't know....I will keep working on it...

if you install them on the older pre 73 trucks ya need ta long gate the holes were they mount on the hood back about 3/4" ta 1 to line the hood up.

thanks flyboy, that was a lot of help. I think I will try to move the fire wall mounts in to see if that will allow me some more room
