hood ornament

i was just wondering if our truck. came with hood ornaments. i don't think i have seen any on here. but i could have missed them. thanks

I have never seen a truck with an OEM ornament. Probably had to do with "safety." Ford had to redesign controls in cab to meet "safety" standards during this period. Have seen several ornaments added on and they look out of place.

no they never had any in the center of the hood. only the two on the sides.

I've never seen a truck with a factory hood ornament, and none of the factory literature mentions one or shows a truck equipped with one....so I'd have to say no.

Yeah, I was kinda watching that one too. Might have bid on it, except that he said there was some pitting. Take a couple good hi-res pics of it when you receive it to share with us, along with any numbers cast into the bottom so that we can attempt to identify it's original application.

just seen an old 40-50 something ford with that and a 70 chevy with it. May have been an universal on does it hae a site glass or whole in the end?

I kinda like the ones that look like a scope target on the end.

I think they came off the older fords?
