Windshields?

Post by Skunked71 »

I have a question? I have been told that you can use a 73-79 F-100 windshield in a 67-72 F-100, I have also been told that you can't, It doesn't really matter because I don't need a windshield, I just got a brand new one for my 71. I was just wondering if it was possible. If anyone could help with this it is greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that I've heard on this forum that you can use a 73-79 windshield on a 67-72.

speaking of windshields, my '68 cab's windshield was glued in, and I also noticed the glass has a tinted band on top. . Is this from the factory, or a replacement window?
I know most I have seen were just in with the rubber seal, and this is the first one I have seen with the sealant used.

Every truck I've parted out used sealer on the windshield.

I know you could get tinted glass from the factory, but I'm not sure about the band across the top. You can get a tinted LMC replacement windshield that has that band though.

Any of the major Ford parts vendors have those. Take a look on the Links & Resources page.

Hey guys,

How about the rear window?

Will the 73-79's also fit the 68-72's?

Thanks,

No, the rear window is substantially larger on the '73-up trucks.

Actually, according to the factory literature the rear window is 39% larger than on the '67-'72. :D (Just thought I'd throw that bit of trivia in here, for future reference.)
