I had a fire in the engine that damaged my '72 F100 hood. The hood is warped from the heat--and the water used to put it out! I'm wondering if I should try and body fill this one or just get a straight one from a junk yard. Either way I am going to have it media blasted and repaint myself. If I do replace it what model years will work for a 72?

re: Hood: Fix or Replace
Once the metal has been warped by the heat, you're never going to get it flat again. I'd highly suggest just finding a replacement...it's going to save you a lot of time and money in the long run.
Any '67-'72 F100 thru F350 hood will work....there's really no difference in them, aside from some minor differences in the underhood bracing that 99% of people would never notice, and it's not something you'd need to be concerned about unless you're planning on doing a 100-point concours-style restoration.

I would look for another hood, trying to fix heat damaged metal is just a big pain it the butt.
oh I was looking at that carb linkage, that link that goes to the pedal look out of wack, also the bell crank thing looks cocked to one side, like the holes are worn out.

Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can find a replacement at a junk yard. I should be able to find one in decent shape here in Arizona.

re: Hood: Fix or Replace
I was wandering if you are going to get a new hood, would you be willing to cut your hood for me? i need some repair panels for the front edge of the hood under the F.O.R.D. letters and the under side of the sides of the hood. Let me know, I would be glad to pay shipping and we could talk about price.
