My '83 had those, only th heads were a little different. They were more square shaped, and I think the glass was a little bigger. They worked great, and folding flat is a plus. If mine were folded flat, I'd need a new door.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Maxklinger, I don't think they look out of place on your truck at all, I think they look fine and have considered same mirrors on my 68 when I remove the jr west coast huge billboards (which I admit would be handy w/camper or such). And, I like the fact they fold in too, banjo.

Bumping this 'zombie thread' back from the dead, did a thorough search of the website and this is the only mention of the JC Whitney 'JR west coast' style mirrors i could find, where someone actually had a pair.

For $30, seems like that would be a popular choice... anybody else out there taken the plunge? How bad is the quality; serviceable or total garbage? I'm not expecting much, but I do have a tendency to 'take advantage' of the capabilites of folding mirrors, if you get my drift. Will a tree branch mangle them first time out?

Too bad U-haul's ebay store doesn't have the JR's because they are selling the full size ones (and if you've ever rented a u-haul those things are invincible) for a really good price.

The West Coast Jr Swing Lok and the West Coast towing mirrors are not sold new or reproduced. Only the "Sport" style mirrors are, and I would feel more comfortable buying them from NPD or Dennis and paying a little more for better quality.

if you read back to page 2, the user 'farmall' says he has them but he doesn't say anything else about quality besides that the trucker-grade blind spots will last longer.

I normally wouldn't care... 30 bucks how bad can they be... but one user on JC W rates them as '1' and says nothing but 'junk' and one user rates them '5 stars' and says they are pretty good but no input on quality.

I looked at some of the other 'CIPA' brand stuff that they sell at O'riley near me and it was halfway decent... about what i expected. I guess these are just bugging me because i think if the support arm is flimsy it will move around at speed and i'll be constantly re-adjusting.

... since nobody will sell me a pair of rotten-out, rusty, crappy west coast JR mirrors and i'm gonna be sandblasting them and powdercoating them black...

I thought you were looking for stock reproductions. There are plenty of aftermarket West Coast Jr style towing mirrors available online, on ebay, in truck stops, etc. I personally like the stock ones and not the aftermarket ones, but the aftermarket ones are "close" looking to stock.

ah man, i looked everywhere and couldn't find any repros of the WC JR besides the JCW ones... maybe they are just too crappy for most people on this board, i'm pretty low-brow... 30 bucks for mirrors is about my price point...

really really wish someone would sell me some rusty ones cheap... cough cough...

Just received my LMC mirrors, $39.95 each plus shipping. They feel hefty and look great. I will be taking those carport space hogging West Coasters off. I do not haul a camper nor pull a wide travel trailer so off they come. Yes they look good, but I like the sport look better.
This is a pic now and I will miss the big mirrors, but I will have a clearer view forward off the Port and Starboard side.
I have the West Coast mirrors promised to 1972highboy if he still wants them. He is a straight shooter.
