lightning_msd wrote:just look on any GM vehicle, thats how you find orange peel, a better explanation is you see how those trucks you all posted have a mirror finish? you can see your reflection perfectly? orange peel you would see a reflection but pretty distorted, every paint job has orange peel unless it is wetsanded down and buffed after, thats how all the hot rod shops do it.

That was a lot better then mine tyvm.

Mine has been wetsanded and buffed so I hope im not going to have the darn peel if so I can have him work on it  . I know the inside you don't buff or w/e. It woud make it to shiney when the sun hits it you can't see. Guy thats painting mine works at a hot rod shop so thats why he is doing mine like theres at the shop!!!

ive been thinking and im pretty confident ill be going with thise:
Image
when i really look at the orange/white, it doesnt fit the bump very well. the black seems to hard, the light blue/white goes so well with the bumps. plus its very close to the original colors of my 69 which is nice.
any idea how can i get the paint matched from these pictures?

This truck was fetured in the Novemeber '06 issue, the fact and figures bio list these colors as Sherman Williams / aqua and white. also the article lists it as factory match ranger colors

Aqua may not be but that's what Sherman Williams shade is called , is all I can come up with . Maybe when Keith see this he can shine some light on the subject.

it looks a little light for harbor blue but too dark for sky view blue.
