1970 F250 4X4 Rebuild / Updating

They bend well with the weight of a tank on them

That is funny Manny! I received all the bearings for the front axle so I have stuff to do tomorrow.

Got back at it today. Painted the knuckles. Got the top of the axle cleaned and painted. Installed the races in the cleaned hub.

What ratios you running here 4.10's. I don't know why but i love the axle work its just good fun. Also if you run into anything you need for that axle i have another one in the basement if you need anything for it let me know.

Back at it again today. Finally got the lower ball joints to tighten, what a pain! Also got one Caliper Bracket cleaned and painted. Modified the brake dust shields I got at the swap meet earlier this year. Now I just have to tight the two top ball joint nuts and install the cotter pins. Did get the passenger side somewhat assembled.

I think it will be a great upgrade. The disc brakes and parts availability are already big improvements.

Plus it's a heck of a lot easier to work on disc brakes and swap pads!

So true. I was able to get the other axle u-joint for Advance Auto at 25% off too. Don't think I will get to play with it till Friday though. I just want to get the axle back on the frame so it can be moved out and the cab can come back inside for that work over the winter.
