Master Steering Wheel Repair Kit W/Instruc
Repair Plastic and Hard Rubber Steering Wheels - The ravages of time and UV light conspire to deplete your steering wheel of it's elastomers. The resultant cracks can be repaired with one of our money saving kits. Use this Master Steering Wheel Restoration Kit with 1 lb of PC-7 Epoxy (52047), an aerosol can of PRE Painting Prep (10041Z), an aerosol can of Self-Etching Primer (16014Z), instructions and a copy of the Steering Wheel Restoration Book (52017) to repair cracked wheels and ready them for the color top coat. The SEM Vinyl Dyes (52066z-52081Z) work great over this kit.

I have seen many cracks repaired just using 2 part epoxy. Eastwoods has a book and all the supplies.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Joe Kriston wrote:I know I've read an auto restoration book somewhere(either for a Mustang or a T-bird) that gave step-by-step illustrated instructions on restoring a steering wheel...I remember it saying you take a Dremel tool or something and cut a "v" groove in all the places you use filler so it has something to adhere to and stays intact....I think it also had the restorer using a special clearcoat over the painted steering wheel...I don't know what they do with those old transluscent DeSoto steering wheels....

u do this with ANY PLASTIC piece that you use a 40/40 type filler. cut a V in the piece where the groove is, and fill it, sand it out and paint it.
