ive gotten the whole front end off the donor truck and ready to clean up and redo. Question though, what is the best way to re-install the front end? take it all apart and one piece at a time or as a whole?

Installation is BEST one piece at a time AFTER you've inspected, repaired or replaced damaged / worn parts. Take your time and NEVER rush the job...check once, check twice, check three times...you get the idea.

do you have to get the truck re-alined once you re-install the parts?

Yes it's best that you do. Don't want to see you loose a front set of tires after spending the money rebuilding your front end.

Your truck will also "feel" funny if you don't...steering it will have your full attention.

how do they aline trucks with the i beams?

i saw the tech article for alining the ibeams. Its alot different from todays alinements. Idk if every front end shop could do this :? I know on newer trucks its like $45-$50 busks for an alinement. Anyone have an idea or know how much they will probably charge if i can find a place that knows how to do it that way?

There are shops "out in the real world" that know what they're doing and can do it correctly. Make some phone calls, ask local folks for recommendations and search the web.

As long as your front coils are of the correct height, your camber should be fine. If not, that's when you'll need to find a front end shop that can properly cold bend your I beams back to specification. Cold bending can only be done with the proper equipment.

Never let a front end shop heat your I beams for camber adjustment.

so if i dont change anything and use un cut coils then there isnt a need to aline it?

The only real alignment that's available for twin I beam (king pin types like ours) is toe. Toe is adjusted by adjusting the length of your tie rod adjuster...best to let a front end shop do this for you. I've paid about $35.00 for this service in SoCal.

Caster is factory set and as long as your radius arm bushings are in good shape, Caster will NOT need any attention.

Camber is only affected when you either increase or decrease the coil springs height (top to bottom measurement) as discussed in my previous post.

there is toe in and out. as well as shops who can bend i beams if needs to correct the camber or caster. whatever that one is called.

on the end of the tie rods there is that grease able boot. my boots have come off and wont seem to stay on and the other one if completely gone. can you replace the just the boots? and how do i get the boots to not fall off?

I'm assuming you're referring to the rubber boots on the tie rod ends, correct?

If so, NO, they're not available as individual parts. Junk Yard item. Get your self a ball joint separator tool, go to your local junk yard, find Bumps or Dents and remove as many as you need. Best way I've found.
