you could have ditched the second alt belt and set it up that way. there is no 4th pulley used on these trucks ever. with or without any kind of a/c. but i guess you haev it working now.

You may have a problem with the AC compressor lining up with the 4th sheave as it is supposed to run from the 3rd. I used the 7AA pulley and the water pump suction hose (bottom) is very close (1/4") to the first belt but it doesn't touch.

Mapco is a company that used to manufacture compressor mounts and pulleys for add-on air.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

is this right? the alt is supposed to run closest to the engine? then the ps and finally the a/c?

Do any of the water pump pulleys for a 390 have wider spacing. My c6ae-5809-a is to narrow, the front groove won't line up with crank groove.Groove in w/p pulley needs to be about a half inch forward.

I ended up stacking washers behind the PS bracket to get the pulley lined up. However, I researched this issue and 70 and earlier rigs used a different bracket than 71 and later models. That may explain why mine needed spacers when the PO (previous owner) retrofitted PS to my rig.
