If we don't get this figured out by morning, I'll take some pictures of mine for you it is too dark right now and the pictures don't come out. Also it is a Holley so it is not exactly like a Ford carburetor.

There should be an arm on the transmission drivers side where the shift linkage connects. The other end of the rod should go there and be held on by an "E" clip.

Once you have the transmission end hooked up, try manually opening the throttle and see if the kick down linkage moves rearward (or down if you prefer  ). If so take it for a drive and let it get into high gear then floor it, it should downshift to second, if not get back to us for adjustments.

(Needless to say the engine will be off when you are manually opening to WOT, and you won't be out there flooring it unless it is safe and legal to do so.)

the carb picture is from the rear. to the right is the stud the kickdown linkage goes on.

in the transmission picture my finger is pointing to the place on the c6 transmission that the other end of the kick down rod is suppose to hook to. all other ford automatics should have a similar. hook up location or lever.

Here are some better pictures. I can see the pin where the linkage hooks up to the transmission. Does it connect with a cotter pin? Am I missing a spring on the carb linkage end?

Thanks a bunch for all the help and pictures. This site is awesome and I'm sure you will be seeing a lot of me over the next several years as I get this truck into shape.

I'll hook up and test as soon as it's safe to do so. I'm still trying to get the truck to run w/o stalling. Once I do that, gas up, and get insurance I should be leagal and safe for an open road test.

Thanks,

Jeff
