Does the Duraspark use the stock spark plug wires? In other words, are the terminals the same?

I switched to a Pertonix and a Flamethrower and saw no gain in performance or mileage. I think the guys that have probably had points that were burnt or out of spec on the point gap. Knowing this I wouldn't do it again because I agree with the above poster that said that points are easy to work on, I have no problem installing and adjusting them and a quality set of points and condenser will last a long time. But if you have problems installing and then dialing points in correctly then the conversion might just be for you. For me though, from here on out I'll just convert engines with rear distributors, I hate working on those.

+ my :2cents: disclaimer, I am talking about daily drivers BTW, if you're building a screaming drag truck then obviously you'd want to go for even the smallest performance gain possible. It's just not likely you're going to notice point float driving to work.

I agree with what Tough Old Ford said about points. Ihave never had a problem with the points in my truck. Back in the day all cars had points ,so I learned early on to set up points and condensers. I have added a CD ignition box to my truck. It puts out a hot spark and only need the points to trigger the spark. If I need to I can unhook the box and I'm back to stock setup. :2cents:

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
