XD, I'll prolly put quite a bit of sound deadener. But those purple hornies sound good, I looked at those and if they really make that sound for that price wow.

A friend of mine has a lowered Ch*vy pickup with an exceedingly healthy 8500rpm motor that exhausts through a pair of 3" Hornies that dump right at the start of the bed. Loud isn't exactly the right word..."god-awful loud" is closer, but still not right.

When I was younger (much) I used to think "god awful loud" was cool. Now frankly I just think it is kind of silly.

I've had some very loud mufflers and some very hot women (AKA "HOT MOMMAS") including my wife (the hottest of them all) and feel qualified to state that loud mufflers are not the ticket to "HOT MOMMAS ".

Anyway, that said any burned out blown out glass pack will almost certainly be the loudest. Chambered pipes should also get "god awful loud" status and please try not to set yourself on fire... You may find getting them as hot as possible and filling them with water effective as well, and it is much safer that burning diesel fuel.

In fact, I'd like to go on record as saying that burning diesel fuel is a horrible idea. :nono:

Just to let you know! THE WOMEN DON"T LIKE A LOUD TRUCK!

It makes you look like your all that and a hot shot.

I just have your norm Cheep glass packs from the 70's and you can hear me over a mile away when I want you to. Stright Pipes with glass packs will do ya fine and my pipes turn out the side! My glass packs was only 20$Ea

Let your glass packs get hot and run a water hose up your pipes and STAND TO THE SIDE OR YA WILL GET HURT. It will blow all the fiber glass out of your glass packs :D

Heed the words of wisdom above from DuckRyder and 1971fordcustom.

Women, in general, don't like excessively loud trucks. They prefer fast lowered 2WD trucks or 4x4s with a lift, 35-38s and some mud.

And if the rig is really that loud, it better have the balls to back the noise up.

Adding a trumpet exhaust (like on the 70 challenger) helps get it louder.
Good sounding and loud are 2 different things IMO.

Are the hornies that loud? Because Im gonna have them probably just at the start of the bed, and a pipe coming out from the rear of the tire. I don't want them loud enough that they will be a turn off, but loud enough that you can hear me coming from down the street lol. I wont burn out the glass pack off it, because they check that here. But I want ones that when I drive by, people look at my truck.

Thats pretty funny, well I dont plan burning any mufflers out. Because you get caught here, and I dont want them that loud. What is better, the cherry bomb or purple hornies? Are the hornies so extremely obnoxiously loud, and the bombs a little bit loud?

In my county the cops use meters to check for loud pipes and stereros.I'st time a warning 2nd time fine of 125.00 and 30 days to fix the noise to be checked by a deputy or your license is suppended. I put turbo mufflers on mine puts out a low rumble but is quiet in the cab.You can really hear the four barrel and the engine when I get on it.

exactly. Louder isn't faster.
