7500 would have been an option, not standard. I think Keith has all that info right here on the site. I'm not sure when it first came available but I had a 72 F250 that was 6250 GVW, and it came with the big disc brakes. You could probably upgrade yours with bigger springs and put good 10 ply rating tires on it.
