How is a 71 302 in a 71 F100 wrong? I will have the correct engine, carb, everything. Everything will be stock.

I want to meet the guy who can determine the wrong block on a 302 when it is installed! LOL The casting numbers are above the starter and can't be seen without removing it. If we were talking about something special then you could see a difference but early small blocks are pretty hard to tell apart even to the trained eye. Hawkrod
ill work on those pics. shoould be able to get them tommorow. i think he used the 302 brackets, they were a little different. pretty sure he just made them work. ill ask. the 'trapeze' is already ont the shelf, so i cant get pics of it installed
The 302 one mounts different. I think I have the base for one somewhere if you need it. Mine was broke when I went to get the crewcab and the only one I found was a 302 and would not bolt on the 390 so I used the parts off it to fix mine.
I don't use one anymore but I still have a collection of them.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
Sorry, I didn't realize the new engine was the correct year. As faras the guy finding them after installation, never underestimate the power of a determined redneck. I'm sure where there is a will there is a way!
Anyone got a picture of this trapeze linkage?? I guess I have never seen it.

they really are a simple thing. most guys have trouble with them when they go to put holleys and eldebrocks on. the throttle linkage needs to got the oppisite way of the trapeze so they get rid of it for just a straight rod.
The trapeze on one early T-bird I saw was how the tranny kick down worked. It came to the trapeze and stopped. I don't know what tranny and it could have been a 61-63 bird if I remember close.
