re: radius arm removal
My bad too, I figured we were talking about the huge nut under floorpan, not the other end. On that, I can't recall exactly how I did it, was a trick. Wish I had taken pictures, but that was a trick to figure out how to get that loose. Can't recall now if I dropped a deep well on several long extensions down in there or what, but it took some thinnin' (as Quick Draw McGraw would say).....then I recall I DID use my impact on the other end, ground side. Sorry I added to confusion by not reading too.

re: radius arm removal
Well first I didnt bend them myself. I bought a doner truck for the front end for the disc conversion. They came bent, not by much, but enough when you try to put them in you cant get the nut on. I already have the coil off and its that last bolt/nut that is giving me fits. I have gone down and bought some pb blaster, and have been spraying it for the last two days( Iwont have time to see if it works until the end of the week.) I will let you know how things go.

hold on stumpfoot, are you positive they're bent? Reason I say that is they are hell to get back on. I had to use pair of floor jacks, as I work alone and on dirt, but they are hard to get lined back up. Seems I recall great difficultly in figuring out how to get mine back in, involving loosening up something else first in conjunction with floor jacks to accomplish it, but can't recall now.

re: radius arm removal

or bent--not the arm itself

When you put the arm in (with axle attached) The thread on the rear of the arm almost points up to the frame and you cant get the bushing on and the washer and nut. Is this normal? This is my first set and when they didnt line up I assumed they had to be bent.

re: radius arm removal

Are you saying everything back together like this? and its does that or your just connected to the beams and spindles(no coil). Did you try lifting
the beam and spindle(floor jack or however)and then put the bushing, washer&nut on? If not I would try that, because I would think if the back is that bent that bad---it would be visiable

Yeah nam that is a bitch to get them apart. I need to do it to my 77 front end parts so I can and the brackets for the sway bar. Another question. Can you use the old cast arms with the newer 77 i beams? The stamped parts off the 77 just don't look as tough.
FYI you guys should check out Aero Kroil. Makes that pb blaster look like water. Not to mention how it works when you put heat to it. It doesn't burn off. Good stuff I tell you.

Is that the same stuff as Kano Kroil? It comes in a little tin can (maybe 10oz.) and works very well. It's thin and soaks into very tight tolerances. Good stuff.

Yes--those are 70 arms on 76 beams--whichever set of coils u use---use that set of cups
