I think any oil based enamel paint will work alright, the trick is really thin coats followed by lightly wet sanding between every 2 coats. I did notice that in the article they rolled on the paint alot thicker than i did, but I worried about the enivitable runs and orange peel so I rolled it out pretty thin.

Today I bought 1/2 liter of a green synthetic enamel here. The seller told me that the synthetic enamel is better, than the oil based paint, and that could be used without primer. But it is not a paint like Rustoleum that prevents rust, n stuff...
I used a 400 sandparper on a door of my F100, lightly, and I gave the first hand (thinned out ) with the roller (high-density for meant for smooth finishes), let's see ...
I didn't took pictures today, but next time I get the camera...

The thinner, the paint (synthetic enamel) and the roller:

I painted this old door just to see how it goes thru some diferent surfaces...
1st coat:

After the third coat I used a 600 sandpaper.
5th coat:

I'm already feeling that this paint will not be tuff enough (i easily scratched with my nail)...

not to bad zoega, but ya, if you can scracth it with your nail its not going to hold up under worse conditions...
