Welcome My427stang I sure you know by know this is by far the best site and people you will find.
If anyone has any info on the "Heavy Duty Special" I'd be very interested, the tags look like Camper special badges, but say Heavy Duty.

As for the emblems you may want to check out my website

They just did an episode on trucks recently that showed how to shorten the frame of a cheby and shorten the bed to factory swb specs. Might be able to go online and search for past episodes, or just wait for the re-runs

We have done a ton of lengthening and shortening. The way I did mine was to cut about a foot behind the cab. I did the cut at a 45 degree angle and v-ed it out good on the outside of the frame and made sure I got good penetration. I then ground it smooth to hide the cut

However, doing that, it wouldn't be strong enough, so I plated the inside. Basically I welded the inside again and ground it flat. Then made a plate that overlapped the weld buy 3 inches or so and was shaped sort of like this <>

That gave me a bridge and the points on the end gave me more surface are to weld and more strength from different axis

Its overkill, but its all inside the frame where you cant see it, and its been through drag races, towed everything from cars to tri-axle dump trucks back to the garage and even pulled a few truck pulls.

When I get the bed back off I will take some pics

However, remember some lessons learned

1 - Measure 10 times cut once
2 - The 67-72 require two cuts, one in front of the wheels and then one at the bumper
3 - When measuring and fitting, measure length and parallel, but also measure across corners to make sure the frame is square
