My Zephyr is a 267cu.in. engine, itty-bitty pistons in that rascal, 2 3/4" bore. It's officially rated at 110 HP The gearing is pretty high, to get that monster rolling, in fact, it's pretty quick for a pre-war car. I don't know what the RPM is, but when you wind it up to 70-80 it sounds like a bunch of bees buzzing away under the hood. It will still top out over 95MPH, but cruises best at about 60. If I had a Columbia rear I could cruise at 70. It's not that critical. If I'm in a hurry, I take the bike, or my wife's Expedition.

My wife's Expedition is the ticket too!
That is one sweet ride.
In Punta Gorda, how'd you fair in the 2004 season? I took care of a few banks up the road from there when Charley came through. Most folks that lived around the harbor will never forget as they still don't have houses 3 years later!

One house, minor damage (the one my soon to be ex-wife was living in)
The house I was renting, minor damage. My shop.... trashed, I had moved the Lincoln to the house the night before, in the shop I had my 61 T-bird a 76 Vette, a 64 Panhead (disassembled on the lift) and all my tools and parts stock. When all was said and done, (no insurance due to commercial vs. personal situation, nobody would write it) I parted out the T-bird, the Vette went to ex-wife, I managed to spend 2 weeks there sorting, and packing (needed to find another shop, nothing available) I lost many of my spare parts, and out of two big roll around tool boxes, I lost only one 1/4" drive socket! I found every part, nut and bolt to put the Panhead back together, so I took a beating, but not as bad as some people. Charley wasn't very wide (only 20 miles or so) but it was a Cat. 4-5, depending upon who's instruments you check. Luckily it centered on the harbor and didn't cause much flooding. It was funny, looking outside after it passed, just as it was getting dark, huge trees snapped off, buildings leveled and gone, cars and trucks on their sides, poles and wires down, no street or business signs, but in my backyard, my dog's soccer ball was just sitting there, right where he left it!

Zephyrmerc,
Funny how canes' act indeed. Glad to hear of what you salvaged.
Charley took out 3 years worth of hard drive for me as he passed by us in Naples, (lived there for 23 years).
Folks who don't wanna believe how the government and insurance companies can just say good luck need to visit there. I now live in Polk County where the eye of three hurricanes passed in 2004. They say lightning can't hit the same place twice?
Hope to meet ya' someday.
