Just drilling (or grinding) the head away will accomplish nothing. The rest of the bolt will still be held captive by the J-nut.

Just buy (or borrow) a small angle grinder and put a cut-off wheel in it...it'll make short work of the bolt. Of course, I'd try the PB Blaster route first...you might get lucky.

Come in a can like brake cleaner or carb. cleaner. That stuff is the best. Can you see the bolt from the bottom. If so, I would buy a can and soak the bolt and let it sit.

a die grinder runs off an air compressor. pb blaster is liquid wrench.

if you get one of the 14-20 dollar ones be sure to get a good water trap for your compressor.

What I do is take off the guard and kind of sit up under the truck, then hopefully you can see it and soak it. That will break it loose. That what I do. If not, then I wouldn't worry about it.

well i dont have to worry about it now,
but i will once i need to paint behind the cab and in front of the the bed. ill try taking off the guard and spraying.

my dad said that we can switch to the incab tank only, that way the guage will work, and i can start taking off the under bed tank.

E-bay the auxiliary tank setup...and buy yourself a nice electric angle grinder. ;) It's one of those tools in my shop that I'd be lost without. If you need to cut something, you can put a cutoff wheel in it. If you need to sand, grind or strip paint, there are appropriate attachments to quickly get the job done.
