I probably do, but all the hood hinges I've pulled are all together in a box, and I'd have no way of knowing which ones they were. Heck, they might even be the ones I powdercoated for my project. However, the '67 F250 I got with the wierd-looking hinge springs are the first ones of those I've seen....all the other hinges are identical, as far as I can recall. I think I remember comparing a set of '67 hinges and a pair of '70 or '71 hinges a while back and they were no different.

FYI my F250 has bumpers - Serial Number D16801. Could the assembly plant determine if the truck has bumper or not? :?

That's possible, but I don't think it's the case here. I'm thinking it's just another one of the changes made by all the plants after a certain consecutive unit number, like the '67 narrow beltline trim that was also used on '68 trucks with serial numbers up to #C56,001.

there's a very slight difference, the later ones have a crease, dimple (sorry can't think of a better term) that acts as a brace when the hinge is bolted in place. The crease rests up against the side of the truck to stabilize the hinge instead of it "floating" on the four bolts. I'll try to get some pics this weekend if possible, have a full plate of honey-do's. :help:

Boy I came back to see all the replies to this thread thinking people were giving our fearless leader a hard time about the truck I posted, and it turns into tech! Usually it's the other way around! This is interesting though. I wonder if it was just a cost cutting thing and they figured they didn't need additional support there.

My 68 has them, but can't remember the number right now. I do remember you guys decoding it for me and saying it was born in late 67...

Just my 2 cents
