Find a '88-'97 F-2/350 with the 460 if you want these ratios.

1st: 5.72
2nd: 2.94
3rd: 1.61
4th: 1.00
5th: 0.76

I am gathering up parts to put a four speed toploader in my long box.
I will need to use a two piece driveshaft, because of the length.
Rear driveshaft is no problem; but what about the front?
You need a sliding yoke to fit the toploader, but the front driveshaft doesn't slide. So you need to drop the hanger bearing to remove the transmission? Is there an easier way to do this?

Why not just run a one piece driveline? Late 80's ford 1/2 ton vans used a really long single piece driveline that's real close to bumpside 2wd longbed length. Running two slip yokes in a driveline is asking for trouble.

Been using van driveshaft behind C6, but Toploader looks to be 3-4 inches shorter.
Driveshaft shops wont make one that long.
They say it will whip. Shouldn't front shaft with hanger bearing be solid? I would just use yoke to mate up transmission.

When I put toploader in mine, I use slip yoke on front of front shaft. Works fine.
Bump'n along.
