I just went through the same pain about 2 weeks ago. A second pair of hands is almost a must. Someone to hold the box while you thread in bolts for the steering box saved me a ton of time and agrivation. I almost pulled the whole column out, installed the box and then put the column back in. You might want to check these two links out.

re: Please! Need help now w/ ps box!
I finally got it in. Thank God. I pulled the column up a little bit and that helped. The normal cussing though also helped. Luckily I had my dad there with me to hold the box. Everything works but the steering wheel sits an inch up from the column. Not worried about it though. I am going to replace the cab mounts and put new bearings in the column after I get back from fall break. One other thing. If you put a oil pressure gauge in, make sure it isn't sitting on the exhaust manifold when you leave the house. I went down the road to test the steering and saw smoke. My dad looked under the hood and it was shooting oil everywhere. The dipstick dropped about half way from full. Raced home and coasted in. Now I got something else to fix. But I thank all of you guys for your help
There is no way I could have gotten it in with out your expertise. I really appreciate it. I would have given up with out your help. Thanks alot!
PS: Where can I get one of those coolers for the power steering?

Glad you got it going!
For a cooler, my first suggestion would be a junkyard.

I'm thinking of getting something like this and mounting it in the original position, or getting something a little bigger and mounting it behind the radiator.cghstrojan08 wrote:PS: Where can I get one of those coolers for the power steering?
