Keith,
That may be ugly but I'll bet its less likely to rust than the original. It has no place for dirt and water to collect and cause rust.

re: front cab mounts shot.
I'm still unsure how to remove a cab mount. Can anyone help? Pictures would be great.

re: front cab mounts shot.
When I removed my first set of rusty mounts, I had the cab off the truck and sitting on it's back, for easy access. I just used the a cut-off tool to cut away 98% of the mount, then used an angle grinder to remove the flange left behind:

Knowing what I know now, I'd definitely just drill out the spotwelds, if I had access to them. Of course, if you're replacing them on an assembled running truck, you're probably not going to want to have to tear things down enough to roll the cab back, so you're probably stuck using the cut-off tool and grinder method.

Great! I have the cab off and in the proper position. I'll try to expose the spot welds and get one of thise spot weld cutting bits. Is that an Eastwood item?

re: front cab mounts shot.
ive seen one where a guy took the time to fab his own mount from stainless. Pretty close to the original. Never got a pic though and the truck has since gone to heaven.![Sad ](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
