Help: parts needed to rebuild leaf springs.....

I have my leaf springs disassembled and cleaned and I will be painting them tomorrow. I need to find the little button isolators that sit in between the springs in the cups at the end of the middle springs. Basically they look like little dinner plates made from plastic that enable the spring to slide when under a load. Is there an online spring parts supplier? I would also like to replace the clamps that hold the spring packs together, the originals were simply crimped and have long since gotten loose.

I have scoured my LMC catalog and they only offer the complete spring not the parts needed to rebuild it.

I'm thinkin' if you have bumps for buttons on your springs, then they are aftermarket. Ford did not put these type springs in trucks of the 60's and 70's. That is just a minor inconvenience however.
Street rod guys have an avenue for these springs and if my memory serves me correctly you can google "Posies" and find springs just like the ones your talking about. The street rod crowd is way ahead of the old truck crowd when it comes to finding solutions to aggravating problems. Some of our trucks are pretty well shot and we still want to bring 'em back to life. These trucks are 40 years old this september(if you have a '67), think how tough it would be to bring back a 1933 Ford three window coupe thats been sitting in a creek for a decade and has been used for target practice by wayward hunters. We need to be open to some of these hotrod dudes cuz they have already blazed the trail for all us "car guys" and gals.
It does'nt hurt to buy street rod mags on the newsstand because somebody else has already tackled the problem thats buggin' you. Just my two cents worth. rick

The springs have Ford part numbers and they are in fact at least Ford springs. The pic I posted in my first post is from Posies website....I have used the posies springs on several other restoration projects myself and they are a great product. However I will not pay $400 dollars to replace the springs when all I need are these little spacers. This truck also had coil helper springs mounted to the rearend housing from the factory, so this may be a trailering style spring. I checked the original ordering paperwork and aside from the "convenience group", rear bumper, 25 gal aux tank, and overdrive there are no other special order options listed.

It is a 1970 Sport Custom F-100, my grandad was the original owner and these are the springs that were on this truck new. I have every single receipt from everything that was ever done to this truck and there is no mention of ever replacing the rear springs, I can tell you that he bought new spark plugs in 1981.....


Here is the part number from the spring if this helps.

I just found a site that list this as one of the springs that ford used on the 55 t-birds as well. I will check some of those restoration sites and see what I can find.

If you're in S.F., check out A-1 Springs in Oakland. They rebuild and custom make springs. They may have what you're looking for or may know where to get them locally.
