size of brake pedal again

Post by rdmac »

hey guys, are you asleep? i asked this question last night and got no response. i stayed up all night waiting for an answer. my 71 swb f100 302 auto has a small brake pedal and pad. my friend at work says its wrong even tho door says its factory auto. he has a 70 lwb 302 auto and it has a long brake pedal and pad. he bought truck years ago when it only had 21000 on it. other night i think someone said all of 67-72 had small pads no matter what tranny. long pads started in 73. it this correct? i sure would like to tell my friend he is wrong.

The brake padal pads I believe were all the same size 67 - 72. I roughly guess around 2.5" X 3.5".

The larger pedals began in 73. 67-72 used the same brake pedal for automatics and standards. I believe there is an article here about installing the larger pedal into a 67-72.
