location for prop valve.

Post by dotcentral »

Two obvious spots are where the old distribution block was mounted, and up around the steering box like on the later trucks. I am thinking about putting it where the distribution block was, but was wondering if anyone has put it elsewhere.

My power train is out of the truck, and I think I'll have surplus brake line should I decide to relocate it.

The '78-'79 trucks had it mounted to the back of the front crossmember. However, it's location really doesn't matter, as long as it's far enough away from hot exhaust components to prevent boiling the brake fluid.

I mounted mine in the open space on the drivers side frame rail behind the trans cross member. I put it there cause it was easy to get to to check for leaks. (and I had forgotten that you could mount it above the steering box)
