BADGES!

Post by splavin90 »

howdy

i'm taking some badges off of my truck, i got the custom cab badge off of my truck, and i tried to get the 390 badge off with a butter knife, and screw driver and it didn't work too well. it bent a little so i stopped. my question is: what's the best way to remove my 390 badge and the F O R D on my hood?

The FORD letters come off easily. Here are phots of two different attachments you might see. The blue ones are stock and the red, some replacements I used. In the case of the blue, the letter should pop out with the method you are using (careful prying). With the red, however, you need to unscrew the keeper nut (don't know what you call those things). In the other photo, you'll see a close-up of one of the barrel nuts (another made-up term) on another piece of trim. Good luck!

The 390 emblems should have the same type of barrel clips as the custom cab nameplates. I think they have 3 pins. Use caution

To remove the F O R D hood letters I use a punch and a hammer and push them out from the inside of the hood. Tap Tap Tap.. couple taps on one side.. then couple taps on the other so they push out evenly.
