And another thing!

Post by Comet »

Ok, so I gotta rant a bit about the other site. I have not visited anything but the NW chapter in several months (and Keith, if you added other years, I wouldn't have to even visit at all to keep in contact with my local hommies with other model years 'cause I'd bring 'em all here! :D ). Anyway, I'm looking for a steering col. still so I thought I'd check their classifieds and boy do they suck! It is very hard to navigate and I did several searches and they all came back empty. I even did one on "parting out" and nothing. So I decided to just look at the last three months, what a PITA! But I did see a cool '68 Merc. Highboy on propane for $20K. Real nice looking, but only one lousy pic.

Why do you aggravate yourself? Guess you'll just have to hit those local swap meets! :D I can't wait until Feb. I'm expecting to take care of some side jobs during the weekends to get that "extra" spending money. What can I say, I'm an American. No matter how much money I make, it's never enough.

So Faithful, you coming up for sure? Just want to have plenty of time to plan the tank(s) removal. Also, which one is in Feb?

Hey Comet, since it'll be a 3 day weekend, I'll be up for sure. Not sure if I will leave here Friday or Saturday. That'll be real cool! I'll at least be heading back with some tanks! Thanks! :woohoo:

Yes, that place blows. I go and look on occasion, but it just is not user friendly and all that advertisement is irritating. Plus the constant...what I call politicing...their own stuff. It does seem that any real world, usable answer to a question is buried under heaps of fresh crap about "Did you check our sponsors" or " Go to this link about our sponsors", blah, blah, blah.

I do recall Comet from I think either the TN or FLA forums over there. I go and look at those two on occasion and even noticed they have a Louisiana one....which is where I plan on retiring, but no one on it.

I must say, that place with all it's glitter and hype, it does not even compare to this forum and website...Keith has gone above and beyond the call of duty with his work and research. I truly enjoy this place. Lots of times I just need a quick reference or when I think I found some tidbit to stump the chumps...Keith already has it laid out. I would also like to throw some cudos to willowbilly3, 68F250, CobraF100, Heap70 and more that I know I'm forgetting...but it is truly a treat for me to read your posts...especially being over here in Germany without a 67-72 F100/F250 in sight. So, thanks to all of you for the time you spend onn here!

as we say in the Army....Hoo-ah!

While I don't share the visceral FTE feeling I do agree that Ken's classifieds are really bad. As someone said, they are difficult to navigate. The few times I've tried, I gave up before finding what I was looking for.

69F110, I only visit the Northwest Forum, so that may be where you saw me. I used spend time in the 67-72 forum, but haven't even visited since Heep70 told me about this site. I do find some of the engine forums useful for stuff outside of the 67-72 ranges.
