Dang Stupid Body Mounts!!!
I can't find factory style or really any replacement body mounts for the 67-72 4x4's. I bought a set of urathane mounts for 73-79 trucks which were recommended by a guy on a different site who said he'd used them on his truck. These mounts do not fit at all. I tried to freeze the mounts and face them down to the correct height in my lathe. Nope, didn't work, wasted $100 on them. Now I'm really PO'd. I need my truck back on the road and cannot find anything to replace the old mounts that were rusted and rotted to smitherines. I guess it could also be helpful if someone new the correct height dimensions of the 67-72 body mounts and new of any way to machine pretty pliable polyurathane. Thanks for any help.

I'd take those off your hands if their not chopped up for my 77. I have the prothane set on my 70 and they worked fine, supposed to be for 66-79. what brand did you buy? Mine have brass inserts built in that drop into the mount on the frame and I made my own sleeves with sleeves and washers from a body hardware Kit for a 66-77 bronco from Duffs bronco.

I think you got sold the bushings. The mount itself is metal. if it is rusted www.lmctruck.com has the replacement sheetmetal for 25.00 a peice.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Actually, I don't remember what brand they were now, the box disappeared. With these mounts, the cab sits 1/2" too high in at the rear and is angled up in the front with the front a good inch higher than it should. I have the mounts in the right spots, I don't get it. I have other trucks and measured the factory mounts and these new mounts are all 3/8" to 5/8" off. Maybe a got a mislabeled set or something.

Ok here are the measurments off my prothanes that the cab has been sitting on for about 3 yrs.
Radiator support- 11/16 and I have about 1/2in of washers to shim it up straight to compensate for my support spacer plates I have for my rusted cab mounts to hold up till I swap cabs.
Front cab mount- 1-1/8
Rear cab mount- 1-1/4
Hope these help.

re: Dang Stupid Body Mounts!!!
I have a question. It appears that the previous owner replaced some of the metal for the cabsupport but didnt tie in the firewall which appears to be rusted at the mount. The rest of the firewall is in good shape can i attach a piece of 18/20 ga steel and weld it to the mount. I don't know if you can see from the pic. John
