aluminunm trim paint

Post by fordman »

what is the black paint on the trim. how can it be repainted so it will stick is it a special paint what all can you tell me. think of it as i'm a kid that knows nothing. start from there. i'm not worried about the shine of the trim just the paint.

what about preping the aluminumn? some of those places the paint goes is tight quarters. i don't want to lye soap them unless they won't clean up with sos.

Fordman,I wouldn't get overly technical about the paint sticking to the aluminum trim...Are you talking about the side and rocker molding?....I just used whatever hardware store barbeque paint they had and it stuck fine...Make sure after you steel wool or sand or whatever you do,to clean it good with rubbing alcohol just before you paint it...
This is the point...I'm....talking about everybody! I'm talking about form! I'm talking about content! I'm talking about interrelationships! I'm talking about God, the devil, hell, heaven!!!! Do you understand???? Finally!!!!

i don't want it flaking off in a few years it looks like ford put some primer on behind the letters on the tailgate trim. but i want to make sure when i paint back over them that it sticks to the worn spots as well as the paint thats already there.
