could someone take a picture of the front of there cab in the middle. mine has had something smash it i found out once i removed the filler.
I know the sides over the door go up about 3 inches then goes over the roof. i removed drip edge and now grinding off old paint and found filler across front of roof line.
Does it go up at a slight angle, then taper into the roof top. or does it just start from bottom above windshield lip and then taper from there.
looks like there would be a distinctive edge like the part above the door, just not so verticle.
also when looking at hood where the f100 badge is.
Look straight down, should the fender top be visible?
or does my hood just not follow the fender line very well. tryiong to straighten body lines, but that would be alot of cutting and reshaping if not nessecery.
i hope this makes some sense.
Thanks everyone
Dave
this picture shows it. ok looks normal. ??? is where does it leave the fender line. where do they stop being in line with each other.
borrowed picture from this site. thats the color i would love to have also.
(delete if its not ok to use photo like this)

re: dumb question, but have to ask
Dave, it's not a dumb question. I've wondered about the hood alignment too and assumed that's the way it is. At the cowl end, the hood is almost flush with the side of the fender, maybe 1/16" inside of the fender. It's a different story at the front though, the hood is almost 1/2" inside of the fender on both sides. Never really checked with a tape measure to see if the hood was tapering in or the fenders were tapering out. I assumed the hood was tapering in.

re: dumb question, but have to ask
My hood does the same thing...The front of the fenders can't move any further inward or they won't fit the grill right, and the backs can't move outward or they won't line up with the doors,so it must be by Ford design...
This is the point...I'm....talking about everybody! I'm talking about form! I'm talking about content! I'm talking about interrelationships! I'm talking about God, the devil, hell, heaven!!!! Do you understand???? Finally!!!!

re: dumb question, but have to ask
thanks guys,
Thought maybe it was normal. i was able to pull it out at the tail end.
i dont know why i am being so picky for a daily driver. guess since i am an ametuer, the better i try to get it, the better it will look when it doesnt come out right. if i shoot for a 9 or 10 maybe i can get a nice 6. GOOD LUCK RIGHT.
bought a 30 inch blocking board, so maybe it will atleast be straight.
why i had to weld all the seams closed is beyond me. seemed like a good idea at first. just alot of work. hopefully start making interior panels soon.

Well post some pics of that thing. WE like to see it coming together. We have all been there and done that so we like to see it. Keep us posted at least once a week or when you finish a panel. Good luck Charles

roll pan almost done, roof is getting smooth, new frame. with quarter supports welded in.
i removed stock frame completely for weight reasons. and that way i could put it exactly the way i wanted.

WOW you do good work, That roll pan is sweet, I like that brace on that quarter panel. No matter what that thing isnt going to move. Are you going to leave that drip edge off the front? I have seen them both ways that look good. Thanks for the pics, that is the stuff we like. Looks like a class job to me, good luck and keep us posted. Charles

re: dumb question, but have to ask
thanks for the compliments, Hoping it all turns out good when finished. here is a better pic of the 3/4 square tube supports. I havent welded the lower support to the brace yet in the pic. but you can see how it is suppose to be. the whole assembly bolts to frame, so I can remove bed for paint.
the drip edge is all gone forever. found out after i removed it, that behind the doors the cab had a step in it that stuck out past door. had to slice it and take it in an 1/8th or so.
here is a pic of it, not very good one.
will try to get more pics today
