Hi
I speak of the dash pad metal that the guages are encased in. The silver around the edges are flaking, so i was wondering where a guy would bring it to get refinished rather than just painting it.
thanks

you could buy the one on ebay. it is from a 68 or 9 maybe even 70 camper special. Has a whole cut in it for mounting the rocker switch for whatever your heart desires including foglamps. starts at .99 5 days left.
good luck.

If you are thinking of brining it to someone to refinish that for sure will cost more than just buying it new. You can get a new one from Dennis Carpenter or LMC or others for like $150-$175 IIRC.

Try using Bare-Metal Foil that scale modelers use for the chrome trim on models. It should be available from any hobby supplier.

If you are talking about the plastic ones, try bare-metal foil at the address above. This is the product modelers use on plastic models. Good luck and if you use it, let us know how it turns out.

You could just remove your pad and go for the bare metal look. The red one in the photo below shows an unmodified dash after removing the pad and the blue one shows a dash with all but the defrost holes filled.
