what kind of speakers do i need?

i have a 68 f100 but dont no what type of speakers to put in. there are two speakers mounted in the door panel but they dont work. any sugestions? email me

If they are in decent shape, why not just get the door panel speakers working - probably no big deal. Take off the door panel and make sure they are connected, then trace the wires. No sense in trying to find another place to mount speakers if you already have some installed.

Agreed! One should always find out WHY something doesn't work before just arbitrarily replacing it. It might be something as simple as a disconnected wire. And if they're in the door panel, they're not factory anyway, so we'd have no idea of what a previous owner has installed.

thanks, i'll try that one more ques thought. do you have to have an amplifier to make 300 wat speakers sound good? i no nothing about this stuff.

Sounds better than mine, found 3 speakers stuck to the gas tank by their magnets and a third laying on the front floor. Sometimes I wonder what goes through someone head. :hmm:

If you get into the door panel to trouble test , that is the time to do some weather proofing and don't forget about the speaker too ! :hmm:

Speakers are usually rated by the maximum power they can receive so you should be good, what kind of indash stereo do you have?

i have a koss but i dont know what model it is. It is still in my jeep comanche and i havent installed it in my ford because we are still putting ia a new wiring harness.

I'm sure that it will work fine with your speakers. I just purchased a Koss indash stereo which should work fine with my speakers.
