My chain tightener broke so of course then my brake lights were stuck on. This would probably make more sense if you new that the chain tightener was looped under the brake pedal and over the trailer brake lever on the steering column. It held up the brake pedal so the brake light switch was closed (or I quess actually open). I was determined to fix it correctly so I stood on my head and loosened the bolt under the dash that holds the bracket the brake light switch rests against and tried to adjust it. It would not move. My pride would not let me resort to my other chain tightener so I glued together and glued them to the bracket.
I have now fixed this problem twice using ingenious but incorrect methods. How is this adjustment supposed to be made? Is the plastic pin on the switch just worn?
