Alternative to Flames (Paint Job)

I know from time to time we all think or dream about awsome paint jobs for our trucks. Many of you may have already seen this guy that does a realistic flame job. He's located in Coconut Creek Florida. If you get a chance, check out his website: http://www.be-unique.com. I was floored when I saw him airbrush on tv. He did an awsome job on a helicopter. Someone called 911 on their cell and reported it had crash landed in a parking lot. It looks that real.

If I had the chance, I would have some ghost flames on my truck! Just a subtle effect that really looks cool! Something like what you see at this link:

Yeah, he's really made a name for himself, but he's from about as far away from Florida as you can get and still be in the contiguous US. His name is Mike Lavallee, his shop is called Killer paint, and it's located in Snohomish, WA. They did a 1 hour feature on him on the TV show called Rides (Discovery or TLC?). He's been on Monster Garage and Overhaulin.' I saw some of his work (non fire paint) on a 56 F-100 at a trucks rod show last summer. That truck was also on the Rides feature. Really nice work. I can't imagine how much a paint job would cost, especially now that he's got "juice."

I just looked at your pic and I'm pretty sure that is not Lavalle's work. I think you got the story mixed up with a local guy in FL. Lavalle's work is even more real IMO.

The original post is some guy in FL that is doing work similar to Lavalle, but I agree that Lavalle's work is much more explosive!

I did a Harley tank with 3-D flames and then a very very subtle paint color change, and the reaction from people was awesome!! They'd walk by and look, then take a second look, then reach out and almost touch it, then think about it, then finally touch it... it was hillarious!!

Comet, you are absolutely right. The one I saw on TV mentioned that he kinda trademarked the name "True Flames" for his paint job, so I jumped on Google to find more info. The one in Florida is what I found. I was dissapointed not to find more pics of his expertise for cars on the sight. Didn't look like the quality I saw on TV. I was also surprised to find he was in Florida. Chock this one up to being too excited about something awsome and wanting to share.

That's cool, no worries, just trying give a local guy up here that's a legend his props. Yeah, I was looking for a website of his too, but nothing. Hmmm, must be nice to have such good word of mouth and free TV show advertising that you don't need to do any of your own marketing.
