fomoco numbers
are they different than regular ford numbers. i have a number of
d-22b-17743-aa. the part also has other numbers on it but aren't ford numbers that i can tell anything from. i think it is a 74 but i don't know what it came off of i found it in my garage when looking for a coil in my parts bins.

Sometimes they're a little different. As you can see, the D2 in the beginning is the same. 17743 is for a mirror.

Sorry, don't know but sounds like a sport mirror for the car line. Driver's side mirrors are 17743 and passenger sides are 17713.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Are you sure that D22B isn't a D2ZB? If it is, then it's a Mustang part.

Ah ha! That's a Pinto mirror. And now that you mention it mike, the 2 means the Pinto line.
Thanks mike!

re: fomoco numbers
Yeah I totally forgot about that. D22B is the engineering number but if you got that mirror in a box from the dealer, the box would have D2FZ on it.

i have found a pic from a pinto on ebay. i have asked the owner to send me a pic of the back of the mirror so i can see if thats what it is for sure. other than that the local ford dealer said it sounded like a 80's part number.maybe i'll call them back in the morning and give them the d2fz number with the rest of the code i have on the mirror.
