Aftermarket rims for 72 f250 CS QUESTION

Post by BPA »

Hi, I have a 1972 f250 camper special 2wd. The rig has some aftermarket 16” rims from the 80’s that I want to replace. What I have found is a set of vision soft 8 branded rims https://www.visionwheel.com/wheel/5213/ ... =85H7981NS that have a -12 offset. This will make the rims stick out approximately .5 inches compared to the 16’s that are currently on the truck. With the .5 inch difference the rim is almost in line with the front fender.

I can’t for the life of me seem to find a set that has a zero offset. What aftermarket rim either steelie or polished aluminum are you guys going with in a 17x9. I test fit one of these new rims and I’m concerned once I have my 265/70r17’s mounted the front fender could interfere with the tire over large bumps/turns.

If this wasn’t an 8 lug the rim choices and offset are endless. What combo have you guys had success with or maybe I’ve overlooked a source to find the rims I’m looking for. I really don’t want to go down to an 8 inch rim but if there isn’t a choice I will do it.Thanks

Brian
