Rear View Mirror

Post by EM3 »

I have a '68 Camper Special that has a new windshield and needs a rear view mirror. Instead of gluing one to the windshield, can I install a 1967 mirror and mount? I believe the '67 uses the visor clips as the base for the rear view mirror. I'm hoping this base will easily mount in my '68. Also, anyone know what the part #'s are for both the mount w/visor clips and the mirror? I'm having a hard time finding. I see similar mounts and mirrors for 65-66 Mustangs but I'm not sure they're the same part.
Thanks for any help.

I have one from a '67 that Im going to install in my '68 - just haven't gotten around to painting it yet. I'll test fit it to make sure and see if the part# is on it this weekend if it's not too late to be a help.

Had a couple mins so I took a look to refresh my memory and it does fit. The plastic visor bracket has 2 screws and the '67 mirror has 3 so you will have to drill new holes. The part # on the inside of the mounting bracket is C7TB-17698-A. I took this out of an all original '67 so that's the correct part #. Hope this helps you out!
