non stock ps pump?

Post by OldBlue67 »

I suddenly realized I'm not sure what the sock ps pump looks like for our trucks. I thought mine was stock, but then one of the ps hoses got a leak in it and every time I've tried to get a replacement for it, the parts places have given me these weird hoses that would never fit my pump (usually way too long). Mine has a different set up, but I can’t tell if the pump itself is different or if I just have a weird bracket. I can’t see any #s on it right off but heres a pic

So if its not stock, please help me out with what it is so I can fix this leak, and if it is stock, um...anybody have a ps hose they’d like to part with

Looks like mine.

NPD hoses fit great.

*phew* Thanks all of the sudden I wasn't sure  all of the parts trucks I've run into have already been striped of PS by the time I get to them. There were rumors of mine not being stock too, but since I had a saginaw box I figured they must not have known what they were talking about. Who wastes their time installing a saginaw box

Thanks for the tip on NPD, I'll check it out.

I have 2 of these power steering pumps and they are exactly the same as yours. One came off a 1970 and the other one came off of a 1976.I would maybe try asking for a hose from a newer truck say a 1974-76.
