I want to drop my front end suspension with the drums on but not sure how to do it as the brake line has a threaded fitting into the brake cylinder which would require removing the brake cylinder first. I've already rebuilt the brakes and really didn't want to pull the drums.
The front end is going to a shop for new kingpins. I was hoping to leave the drums alone.
Is there another way to disconnect the brake line without doing it at the brake cylinder?

However, as fordman stated, the drums will have to be removed in order to install the new kingpins.

maybe i dont understand the question but if you just take off the 4 bolts holding the backing plate you dont have to disconnect any brake lines

My setup is a bit different from the pic as my brake line has a threaded pipe piece which threads into the back of the brake cylinder which is mounted to the backing plate. It doesn't have the compression fitting which would make things quite simple.
But if the drums have to come off anyways, then I'll just pull them. I like the idea of removing the backing plate but I still have to unbolt the brake cylinder and spin it off the threaded brake line fitting.
The whole issue is that I have a threaded connector into the brake cylinder instead of a compression fitting.
Thanks for the feedback. I was just trying to cut a few corners and not have to undo the brake setup.
