Here’s a question that’s been puzzling me for a while. A few months ago, when I was pulling the 390, the part pictured below suddenly appeared on the ground. It fell down from somewhere, obviously. I’m not sure what it is, but it seems closest to being an engine part maybe? Hence my posting this here (please feel free to move this thread to a different section if it turns out to be totally unrelated to engines!)
It almost looks like a pilot bushing, but it’s way too small, and doesn’t look to be made out of sintered bronze either. Check out the pics -
Any ideas? I wonder if maybe it was being used as a spacer for something.
It sure looks like a pilot bushing to me. Does the truck have a manual tranny?
I've also seen many bushings like this used in the mounting of the alternator / power steering bracketry.

I guess the truck DID NOT HAVE A/C since if it did then the A/C Bracket would have taken the space needed for the Power Steering Pump Bracket so if not that spacer would have been used between Bracket and Engine
