Oops...damn, same here. I wasn't paying attention either. So that's the same code as the '70-'71...are the '73-up codes different? In other words, would I be safe to post these codes on the '72 page as well?

I think I am falling a sleep at the keys. :zz: That code will work with the 70,71 also now I don't know what to do. :hmm: I would have to say stay with the 70,71 style list as the General info says 70/up in the 70-72 film--but by the list with ser #'s its not. I would lean more toward the 70,71 style info....But maybe you can list both until we know for sure

I hadn't even looked at how I had the '71-'72 VIN data codes broke down until after I updated the '70 codes and was getting ready to get started on the '71....I see what you mean about them being different. However, I believe I know of a way to combine both lists, to make the listing extremely detailed. It'll take a little time, but it'll sure be nice once it's done. I'll get started on that....tomorrow. I'm barely awake at the keyboard right now myself.

Thanks Mark....this info was (and will be) a great help to everyone, as soon as I can rearrange it a little better.

The first digit in a 71-72 body type code not only indicates body trim level (Custom, Sport Custom, Ranger, XLT), it also indicates interior trim color per the 71-72 tables we did a while back. A quick peruse of the 64-72 Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog suggests the 70's are the same. Do you need the 70 trim codes from the 64-72 Ford Master Parts Catalog?

Well, the setup on the '70 VIN page is just a bit different from that of the '71-'72 pages that you helped me with, but I believe it's complete. However, if you could take a look at the codes posted on the '70 page and compare them to what you have from the Master Parts Book to verify their accuracy, that would be great!

Thanks!

EDIT: I just read your other post about the '70 interior codes, and see that your listings are much more detailed than mine. Therefore, I would be VERY grateful if I could get those codes from you. :D

I looked more closely at the 70 trim codes in the MPC and indeed the code does indicate both the level and color for a 70, just like the 71-72's. The 'check mark' table you currently have posted for the 70's does not indicate trim level, just color. I will work up a list this weekend and send it to you.
