Hello All,
I own a 1972 F250 Sport Custom. 360/C6, 2 tone green on green with green interior. I've always had a soft spot for these, so when I had the chance to get it from my father-in-law for $500, I jumped. Needs lots of work, leaks everywhere, but currently runs and drives. My goal is to keep it running and drive-able while working on it. Trans leaks, Rear main, valve covers, intake, Oil pan all leak. I have a 390 crank from a Thunderbird, and 390 connecting rods for it already. Has a pretty nasty rust-through in the upper right cab corner above the windshield, which I guess is common on these. Already have a roof to replace that as well.
I am a mini-trucker at heart.Always have, always will. I've had 2 Rangers in the past, an S-10 (biggest POS I've ever had), and am currently on my second Toyota truck. This is actually my first full size truck. I honestly am torn on what to do with it, go up or down. Being that it's a 250, the idea of lifting it, doing a solid axle in front and a divorced transfer case is tempting (and a diesel for that matter), but I keep going back to the thought of lowering it. Either swapping in a Crown Vic front and a five lug rear, as I don't have any plans for any serious towing with it. hell, even lowering it and keeping it 8 lug. I just don't know. Anyway, here is how "Mean Green" currently sits, other than currently having some school bus yellow wheels.
