Idle problems
Hi, I’ve been searching for a while now, but can’t seem to find anwsers to the problem I’m having. I’m driving a 67 F250 with a 352, 3 speed automatic and a Autolite 2100. The problem I have is that, when I start a cold engine, it doesn’t run idle, I need to keep the revs up, when the engine is hot, it idles ok. When adjust the revs to run higher when cold, the revs become to high when the engine heats up. Do any of you guys have a possible cause or solution for this?

Re: Idle problems
There's not going to be answers to basic automotive repair in the search area for every issue. Sounds like you have a choke and fast idle issue. It should have a cable operated choke. Are you using it?

Re: Idle problems
Ok, sorry I’m not using this forum for very long yet.
Yes I’m using the choke cable, but it doesn’t seem to do anything with the revs when the engine is cold.

Re: Idle problems
Is there not a fast idle screw nee the manual choke connection on the carb?

Re: Idle problems
Yes, but when I adjust the idle correctly for a cold engine, the revs go up when the engine is hot.
