Hey Herb, if that trim comes off, there are places that can re-chrome plastic. http://www.cvvacuumplaters.com/ is one I got from a search.
http://www.cvvacuumplaters.com/Ford%2021-22.pdf is to the pdf file for prices.

I don't think those trim pieces come off of the door panels,John...It's annoying because I had a '67 Mustang that had the same problem....I didn't want to pay hundreds for new door panels when mine were perfect except for the flaking and peeling plastichrome...That site would be great, though, for dash bezels, radio knobs etc. to get rechromed...
This is the point...I'm....talking about everybody! I'm talking about form! I'm talking about content! I'm talking about interrelationships! I'm talking about God, the devil, hell, heaven!!!! Do you understand???? Finally!!!!

I think Testors hobby paints has a chrome paint pen. I don't know how well the work. Might take some practice to get it smooth.

If plating is not feasible, I would still recommend Bare-Metal foil, over paint. Still let us know what works and what doesn't.

I looked at the trim again and it may come off but I believe it would booger up the vinyl. The panel is some kind of press board. not very tough stuff. I havn't had time to check into the hobby chrome plating idea but it seems to make sense. I'll let you guys know what I find out.
