Rear Leaf Spring Colors

Post by 9f94m567042 »

Hi There,
Been a while since I last visited here. Looking for a resource to help identify the paint stripe colors
on the rear leaf springs. I have the front coil spring paint colors, but wondering if such information
exist for the rears. No particular year/model in question here.
Thanks

I many be wrong but I'd never seen leaf springs anything but unpainted bare metal from the factory or black. :hmm:

Anybody else got a pair of OEM painted leaf springs?

Hi Jeff

Springs are typically identified by paint daubs or stripes. (Seems to be common for metal things in automotive as camshafts typically have them as well) though I’ve never noticed bump springs that retained them through all these years.

OP, you might try contacting Eaton Detroit Spring and/or Landrum spring.
