1971 F-100 With Drum Brakes and Need a Distribution Block No Booster

Post by mlanierjr »

Greetings,
I have a 1971 F-100 with drum brakes and need to replace the brake distribution block. It has a 302 with three on a tree and and is 2 wheel drive if that makes any difference. It does not have a booster. Does anyone have the part number of the brake distribution block I need or a diagram that lists it or a link?
Thanks,
Michael

Since its only a block and does not meter flow why not get one from a junk yard. Another plan woul be rouse a proportioning valve and to route new lines. Good luck

I hoped I could get a new one at a reasonable price. It's often cheaper to buy new than rebuild.

Thanks for the links. Got the old one off and partially cleaned. The part number on it is C8TA-2B257-M. Not sure if this makes any difference. The valve is not wanting to come out of the block, so I'm going to let it soak overnight. Looking at the instructions it should not be very hard to rebuild.

Might end up doing that if I can't get the valve out of the block. I have been able find most things with a few clicks and have them delivered. With a wife, 3 kids, and 2 dogs time to go pull parts at a junk yard is much better and more fun spent with the wife and/or kids. :)

Thanks,
Michael

As little as I can! :D Sorry could not resist it.

Missed a used one on eBay by three days for $20.00 bucks + shipping. Is this one rebuilt or in need of rebuilding? I've seen similar blocks NIB for $150.00 and used $20.00 to $80.00.

Is it a C8TA-2B257-M or C8TZ-2B257-D? I suspect either will work. Send me your paypal or other info in a PM.
