QUESTION! .....I posted earlier about finding OEM truck seats (+brackets) and after looking at them last night noticed they do not have latching seat backs like my Mustangs. Are they supposed to since they were basically lifted from the Mustang production line? Your input is appreciated.

I'm interested in the answer to that question myself, HIO. My seats appears to be missing something to stop them from leaning too far backwards and was wondering how they're supposed to be. There's what looks like a place that had something screwed into it in the back edge of the bottom cushion. I could use a couple of pics of that "stop" area and any latching mechanism that may be needed.

Here you go.. the pic is of the right rear of the passenger seat. The bumper pad screws into the frame. 'Not sure what the bolt and jamb nut threads into but it's a 3/8-inch fine thread.
Latching? Do u mean when u hit the brakes the seat back doesn't throw u forward? Lol
Mine do not. They have that stopper there in the pic above. Come to thank of it my 67 Fairlane buckets didn't latch.
Didnt u say those oem seats came of a 73 and up truck?
What year is your mustang hio?

Yes, I found 'em in a '73 F350 but it was clear that someone swapped them in cuz the brackets were attached with non-Ford hardware.
I've been doing some research based on your feedback and it appears these seats (with a C7TB tag attached to the bottom seat frame) were reused from the early Mustang years since they don't have the latching mechanism. Mustangs used the anodized "hockey sticks" on the outboard seat backs but these do not. Hockey sticks were also used on 67 Mustangs or had a fancy seatbase trim and backshell. My 68 coupe does have a latching seat backs.
Here is the tag. Truck seats for sure :

Ah, that explains it. I wonder if 68 is the year they started the latching buckets.
