Hello all. New to working on autos but you gotta start somewhere. Found my birth year 65 F100 made in the local San Jose plant. I want to put some disc breaks on but one of the previous owners put 3/4 ton axels on it. Any thoughts or advice on fitting disc breaks on a 3/4 axel on a 1/2 ton frame? Dog Tax included.

I'm not up on disk brake swaps but to me I think it would be easier to swap back to 1/2 ton running gear and go from there......not to mention a better riding truck.......my anyhow........
Good looking ride.....that body style is gonna be my next project.....

Re: New member Bay Area. Disc breaks 3/4 axel
Welcome to Fordification.
I've got a 71 F250 that is slated to receive front discs. The principles should be the same. Do you know what year the front beams, spindles, and such came from? One way to determine the donor model hear or at least the engineering series are the castings on the I beams, spindles, and hubs. For example, does it start with C6xx, C8xx or a D1xxor D4xx???
Depending on year, some possible donors are F250s up to and including 1979.
We need more info so we can provide better information.
Btw, I'm up here in the Walnut Creek area.
